    Coco Fiber?

I've got an adult Carrot Tail Leopard gecko and he's currently in a 15gal. tank with paper towels as a substrate.

I dislike solid substrates, even though they are simple and easy. I'm a fan of loose substrate, so I just bought some Coco Fiber for my tarantulas, Emperor scorpion, and my White's Tree frog.

I've seen people use Coco Fiber before. So since I just bought a new brick, I've come to ask if I can use this substrate for my Leo.

    Thanks!

    Re: Coco Fiber?

I am not a fan of loose anything for Leo's.
Tile and paper towel may not look good to you but it's safe for them. I know folks will disagree but, for my guys, it's solid substrate all the way.

I do use coconut coir for my tortoise though

Not a good idea. Leopard geckos are not good candidates for loose substrates in captivity. Better to keep the paper towel, or if you want something a little nicer try tile.

I gave you the answer you needed last night Tiff.

With geckos loose bedding is a no no due to their habits of eating off the ground, and easily get impacted.

Ive used exo terra plantation soil for awhile for my geckos and have never had a problem. I think the dirt just passes right through them. Cleaning is pain but is made easier with a kitty litter scooper.

If you have cocohusk, just make sure its the really fine stuff.
