    Easy Care?!

    On a scale of 1 to 10 ( 1 being easiest - 10 being most difficult)

Where is the bearded dragon along the lines of taking care of?
Which lizard is the easiest if it is not the bearded?

I would say around 6-7ish..... Honestly they arent all that hard compared to some animals, you just have to get everything set up right in the beginning then you get on a good varied feeding routine and it gets easy once everything is all setup. Its just the initial setup that you have to get right. One thing that makes them SO much easier than a lot of animals is that they dont really have a humidity requirement, most places already have a natural humidity that is higher than they actually need so you dont have to worry about it, humidity can be a pain depending on where you live!

But i guess one that would be easier would be a leopard gecko. No UVB, low heat requirement, dont eat as much, dont have to vary the diet, and also low humidity requirement.

Honestly if you want a beardie then go for it. Getting the setup right for them is easier than your ball pythons was, I can guarantee that lol. They just require daily feeding compared to weekly feeding like ball pythons.

They are also tons of fun to work with! You will get a lot of enjoyment out of it!

Leos I would say are the easiest.

Beardies require fresh veggies chopped everyday...as well as can eat up to 50 crickets a day. Also their adult set up is pricey. it is recommended to have a 4x2x2 enclosure for a single adult plus you need the right lighting and vitamins. Now...if all that is not a problem then they are not that difficult. They do like attention and will want/need to come out and play.

Bearded dragon care is very well documented, so on that front you're completely covered. For some reptiles, proper care is a relative unknown.

However that wealth of knowledge about how to keep them healthy is balanced out by 1) costs and 2) time and effort required.

I like snakes. I can go on a short vacation, leave them fed and happy with a full water dish, and they'll be fine. With a bearded dragon, daily care is pretty much necessary.

That said, it's not like it's that much more work than a guinea pig or rabbit, just more specialized.

On a 1-10 scale? I'd put 'em at a solid 5-6, mostly because of time involved and ALL the LITTLE things to do that make a big difference in their health.
