Christmas is shedding, I think.
I think Christmas is starting to shed, I'm not very familiar with beardies. She has been clawing at the sides of her head and I noticed some old skin starting to come loose by her eye. How long does this process take? Should I soak her more often? Does her old skin come off in big chunks or just flake off a few scales at a time?

Re: Christmas is shedding, I think.
If it's a good shed, it should come off in full pieces. A back piece, leg pieces, face, etc. Our beardie's face sheds first usually the nose pieces come out first, then top of nose, then neck and rest of the head, the usually legs and back. If your beardie's habitat is ok, she'll be fine. Isis actually sheds better when we keep her habitat humidity free and the pieces come off better when they're dried out. We usually give Isis a bath when her legs are almost done shedding and her back/belly and tail are starting to shedding. Shed time just depends, but Isis likes to take her time. Though that could just be a testament to how lazy she is unless we put her on the carpet.
Be sure to get some good pics of her after she sheds! She'll look the brightest and you'll be able to see the pattern better after she sheds.

yea beardie sheds are funny as sometimes...it comes off in chuncks and typically will hang there a bit. Make sure when the toes shed that it all comes off as left over shed after time can cut off the blood supply and they could loose toes.
