    traveling snakes

I'm going away for Christmas to my parents house which is 7 hours away. I'm not sure what to do with my ball. I could leave him at my home but the problem with that is his cage doesn't hold humidity past a day and his heat lamp would have to be left on 24/7 and that could be a fire hazard. or i could buy a tupper ware container and bring him with me and his under tank heater and water dish. what would be the better choice? what would you do?

How big is your snake? Do you have a thermostat to regulate your under tank heater? Humidity is the least of your concern not unless he's on shed. Is it snowing where you're going? What I would do is put him temporarily in a tub set up (I'm assuming he's on a tank set up with heat lamp?) and leave him home. Place the UTH under a sterilite or rubbermade tub. Just make sure you use a thermostat for the UTH.

the light can be put on a 10 dollar timer and the fire hazard comes from animals or people knocking it over, so as long as you don't have a cat or dog, you should be fine.
