    Any other EMT/Firefighters here?

It has been a very busy fall here.

Work, snakes, rats, EMT class, Firefighter Essentials class until april....

I have to admit, I was very stressed during the morning of the test. I had one small drink that morning, and made about 5 trips to the little boys room. I am happy to report though, that both myself and girlfriend passed the first time!

I am now in the Essentials class. I know I have to stick it out, but it will be rough. They make you read ahead in the book, and do a workbook. The book is hard to follow, (poorly written) and the workbooks are never even looked at. During the class, it is very monotone, and a lot of "Death by Powerpoint".

Does anyone alse have similar stories? Did your training go better or worse?

Overall, I am happy I am doing this. Knowledge is power.

I'm not one myself but I'm surrounded!!

My dad is a firefighter/EMT, i remember helping him study for classes when I was 12. I thought it was so cool to do homework together!!

My mom is a paramedic/ff, single mom with 5 kids (though 3 of us are out of the house) she's got a tough one!

My boyfriend is a Paramedic supervisor. 12 hr night shifts make it a pain in the booty to see eachother that's for sure.

Congrats on passing your first time!!! I'm sure you will do great, no sleeping during those presentations!!
