Feeding

I purchased my first burm a few months ago and for awhile she was on schedule with eating 2 small mice a week.. usually 4-5 days apart.. and well now she is eating 2 large rats or 3 medium rats a week.. usually about 4-5 days apart.. sometimes even closer together.. i thought maybe she would be going threw brumation and eating a lot, but she is very active. is this normal? i guess its not really a problem, just curious because she is a lot different than all the balls i have had..

she is only about 4 months old if that should be taken into consideration..

she is a hoss.. she is about 3-4 times her size since i got her back in september.. she is hungry.. its not me over feeding her.. i tried to space her out and she started to get aggressive even with me handling her daily, so i feed her when she is hungry.. i tried to post pics of her but some reason this site isnt allowing me to do so.

Just be careful Burms can get overweight VERY easily

I would switch her over to small rabbits and try extending food out every 10-14 days. Also she only needs to brumate she is breeding. I wouldn't worry about her activity level they are NOT ball pythons which are notorius for going off food

I never understood why people feed burms mice it just seems like a waste of time to me. I dont see anything wrong with feeding two large rats a week to burms. Just watch its weight. Depending on where you get your rabbits it might be cheaper for you to start on rabbits.

I agree with the idea of only feeding mice, bbut I have had burm babies that wouldn't eat rats only mice had one who at about 4 foot was still eating only mice and wouldn't switch over took along time she finally did but took almost a year in the mean time to keep her weight up and level I fed her mice.
