How to tell the difference between different pastel lines?

I was wondering after hearing about all the different lines of pastels, what is the way to determine what line of pastel you have gotten. Pastel jungle, lemon pastel, graziani line pastel, ect...

    What's the difference people?!?!

Or is the only way to tell the difference is to ask the person you got it from and take their word for it??

Only way to know is to trace back lineage back to the original animal that was pulled out of the wild. other than that, nope you can't know. most people just take the word of the person they get it from, the line of pastel means nothing anyways.

I wanted to note something on these pastel threads... I purchased a lemon pastel directly from NERD years ago, and even though it's considered a LEMON line, I've seen many no-name pastels look far better than mine.. So take that for what it's worth. Name really doesn't mean much, especially considering pastels have been in rotation for over a decade now.

Re: How to tell the difference between different pastel lines?

the best way to tell is to ask. I had breeders tell me they don't know. not the answer I was looking for, but at least it was honest. and the pastel was very nice. so you can get nice pastels without knowing the line. but, if you want a certain line, then you need to find a breeder who didn't dirty up the line. select breeding is what this is all about, and with pastels, it really shows when you see in an ad lemon pastels, and it doesn't look much better than one of my normals.
