First try feeding after a few days in the new place.
Second start making a vet apt to get that vent checked out and to have an overall inspection done on the animal.
Third switch to paper towels and get them damp, this will help keep the vent out alittle bit til you see a vet.

Re: Need some help with this little girl
She did eat a small rat last sunday and was able to keep it down, so that's good. Thankyou for the advice on the substrate. I will do that. Luckily enough I do odd jobs for an exotic vet here and he has said that he would look at her for no charge. Again thankyou for the advice.

You also can do a lukewarm waster soak to help clean the crusty off her vent. Put a washcloth in the water for her to crawl on, and some of that crusty should get soft and come off as she moves around. It's an easy, gentle way to clean it up a little. Good luck, she's adorable

Make sure he has a hot spot atleast 90-92*. Another thing that you may try is Pediolite soaking. Get the clear Pediolite for kids, mix it 50/50 in luke warm water and soak her 15-20 minutes every 3 or 4 days. Snakes can absorb nutrients through their skin, this should help boost his system a little. He will also drink a little while soaking. Offer food every 10 days or so until you see improvement, pushing food too often will add stress and with his body weak he will not digest as normally as he should. As you see noticeable improvements in his overall health you can switch to offering food every 7 days. And definately take advantage of your vets generosity....and tell him thank you from the entire reptile community!!!

Yeah i echo what everyone else said here, surprising how quick it happens on BP.net.
I just want to comment and say that is a beautiful little snake and that i hope you can keep up updated on his/her progress! I love seeing rescued snakes get into a great home and grow up to be the sweetest and usually best snake you could own.
