How many Mice per 10g Tank?
Im sure this has been asked but my uber searching skills have failed me.
I have a few 10 gallon tanks left over from my Aquarium days. I bought 3 mice 1.2 and had them in 1 - 10 g. Yesterday I came home to a momma and 10 pinkies.
I separated her from the other 2 until the other one pops. Then Both Mommas will be in 1 - 10 g., until the pups are weaned.
Am I doing it right?
Will both moms be ok in 1 10g?
Will the male be ok by himself or should I add another male or a few more females?
I'm only breeding for my own snake and a friends snakes. Any info will be appreciated.

You can leave all three of them in the same ten gallon tank all the time.
Just pull out the weaners as the mom has a new litter and you will be fine.

Yes, female Mice tend to take care of other mothers babies a whole lot more than Rats do. So in your case, leave them all in there with about 3 inches of bedding, tons of food and water, and let the mommas do their business. Mice do great in small spaces, just more comfort and the babies tend to stay with the mom longer and don't wander off in a huge tub.

So I can keep all the mice in the tank with babies? The male wont harm anybody? Would I need to put any little hides in there or anything for the moms to nurse?
I saw my 2nd female making a nest and is pretty fat, so I'm assuming she is about to pop. So ill probably move them all into the same tank after she pops.
Thanks all for the info.

Well the male should be removed ideally, but you don't have to. I've kept males in the tubs at all times with no issues, but if you do have the space to separate the nursing mothers, do so.

You don't need hides for anyone.
Bedding, food and water are all that is required for mice.
The male shouldn't hurt any of the babies.
99% of all mouse breeders leave the mice in groups of one male with up to six females full time. They never remove the male or any of the females. They just pull the babies as they are weaned.

I pull weaners more on look than date. When they get a pointy nose, usually between 3-4 weeks, they are ready to be pulled. If you are raising them for more than just food, ie to replace a breeder, leave them in for an extra week to gain some size.
Most of mine are pulled between 3 and 4 weeks old, but like I said, you kind of get a sense of just looking at them if they are ready to go. If left in with mommas, they will continue to nurse, possibly starving out the next brood...
