    Help with sick RTB !!!

    so i dont know much about boas and a friend of mine who lives a few hours away just texted me these photos of her male RTB .. she said his mouth area is swollen and she cleaned some smelly pus stuff from a hole in the inside of his mouth.. ive never had this prob with any of my bp's so i suggested she go to the vet.. any ideas what it is ?

    btw, she said he is still eating and the swelling has gone down some since cleaning it...

    Hi,

    Looks like some infection set in and caused an abcess?

    A course of anti-biotics would probably help it heal better and avoid any complications.

    Was there ever any injury in that area?

    7 adult Royals (2.5), 1.0 COS Pastel, 1.0 Enchi, 1.1 Lesser platty Royal python, 1.1 Black pastel Royal python, 0.1 Blue eyed leucistic ( Super lesser), 0.1 Piebald Royal python, 1.0 Sinaloan milk snake 1.0 crested gecko and 1 bad case of ETS. no wife, no surprise.

    That is a abscess from teeth being out of place more than likely..

    You need to tell friend to get as much puss out as possible and flush the abscess with peroxide and rinse with water. This will help maintain the abscess till vet antibiotics are administered.
