Where to order rodents?
Hey guys. Right now my petco gets rodents from gourmet rodent, and ofcourse they are way overpriced.
I have been very satisfied with the quality of the rodents though, and I might just order from them, although I have not gotten a shipping quote yet in order to compare with other online sellers. I'm not planning on getting huge quantities; maybe 50 fuzzies, 30 adult mice, 30 small rats or so. Any advice please? Thanks

For every 15-foot python out in the Everglades, there are thousands of species of clams, trees, cats, grasses and birds that are wrecking just as much havoc across the globe. So, for all the headaches the snakes are causing, I at least applaud them for being scary enough to get people's attention.

Re: Where to order rodents?
There are several places to choose from, but I've heard good things about Rodentpro in particular. However, only owning one snake myself, buying online isn't worth it for me so I have no personal experience with them!

Depending where you are located it might be beneficial to order from a certain place because the shipping will be more reasonable. I order mine from loxahatchee rodents because they are in Florida and offer a good shipping price. There is also rodentpro, big cheese, the mouse factory etc.

We order from RodentPro. With a friend ordering with us, it saves us on shipping. We figured out how much we needed to feed our snakes for 12 weeks, and ordered that, and our friend got the left over packing space (they tell you how much they can put in one box for shipping purposes). The mice and rats have always been great quality, and owning so many snakes, its a HUGE HUGE HUGE money saver.
Going in with someone really is the way to go though, because then it makes shipping MUCH more reasonable. (cutting it from 42 to 21 bucks)

Re: Where to order rodents?
I have used the mouse factory for about two years now. I do not know how prices stack up, but the quality is fantastic and I have never had any of my three snakes refuse meals. Edna will take care of you.
As the others state, shipping is the main expense. Going in with someone else would help.

+1 on The Mouse Factory. I just placed an order yesterday. I've been using them for years and think the quality is fantastic, I have never been disappointed. Can't say the same for RodentPro.
For price...I ordered 25 adult mice, 30 small rats and 20 medium rats...shipping to NY...it was $174.50. I think it's worth it though.

Re: Where to order rodents?
I have always used rodentpro and i like them
But the true question is where do you live?
Because a lot of these online frozen feeder places also vend at shows (rodentpro vends at our local show)
You could prolly find ur local reptile show and pick em up $30-40 cheaper because of no shipping

American Rodent Supply and Mice Direct is the only places i have bought from so far but those are pretty good.

I've bought about 700 at a time from LLL reptiles, but it's not worth it unless you buy in bulk. I still ended up splitting shipping with a couple friends as well! Sometimes people in your area might be able to share their surplus feeders if they breed food for their snakes!
