    Eating while breeding question?

Wondering if it's rare for a female to eat while gravid?
    Has it happen to anyone?

It's really rare for a male to eat while breeding & females usually stop eating when ovulating but some snakes will eat at any given time....

    Re: Eating while breeding question?

    You've asked two questions here:
    Do females eat while breeding
    and
    Do females eat while gravid.
I feed females while they are breeding (not while the male is in, but I figure you've got some common sense). Every extra food item that a breeding female eats will go alost exclusively towards egg weight.
The females will eat ravenously while breeding IF fed.
All the females I have bred over the years refuse food at a certain point, usually when they become gravid.

My male is going through his 2nd breading season and hasn't missed a meal yet. My female last year went off food around 30 days before she laid her eggs.. This year she is still eating like a champ but it isn't that far into the season for her to quit.
