really odd behaviour

just thought I would try and get a few opinions on what people thought of my bp's odd behaviour..... im not sure what it is but im sure someone on here can help me out

today is feeding day in the house hold and i did the usuall nothing out of the norm thawed the frozen mouse as i do gave it a quick warm up with the hair dryer and mimiced a live mouse and usually she has gone for it struck and swalloed within 15 mins but today it took about 20 mins just for her to even register that it was there and even when she did she struck at it but didnt take it off of the tongs then acted as if she was scared off it ducking her head away and hiding... so i placed it in the vivarium to see if she would take it on her own accord and after about 10 mins off sniffing it she carefully picked it up and started to eat it.

but she got about half way through eating it she "stood up" by about a foot. now i know that bps do that any way but she just seemed to do it alot earlier than normal....by normal she usually does it as only the tail is hanging out of the mouth but she did it when she was just past the front legs of the little mouse also it took her over an hour to eat it all in all. am i just being over cautios or should i be worring about something.

Maybe she was asleep and trying to wake up. I would say next time you feed her, try it later in the evening and see if you get a better response...

They have "moody" days. And by that, I don't mean to imply that they have human moods...but some days they sleep more deeply than other days. Some days they're simply not particularly hungry. Some days they are beginning a shed cycle, which can throw off their appetite. And some days we simply can't begin to guess why they might do something different.

I would not worry about it.

Haha, nothing to worry about, just keep feeding her and she'll eat it however she wants. Some snakes are weird and eat in different ways. As long as she is still eating and not losing weight, then you are fine.

I know exactly what you mean my little snake just had her first shed since I have had her and right after the shed I fed her.

She has a normal eating routine she goes thru but this time she struck and constricted the mouse then just sat on it for a while rubbing on it for about 5 minutes before eating it which is not normal for her so I was trying to figure out what was wrong. I think they just do strange things sometimes.
