What do I say to them??

I'm sure this must have been mentioned before, but..

Every single person I ever mention to that I have snakes always says "Well, I heard about a guy who had a huge snake, and it laid down beside him one day, and he phoned the vet and they said that the snake was sizing him up to eat him..."

I don't know how many versions of this story i've heard! "My cousin's friend", "my brother's friend", "this guy I work with", etc. etc. etc.!!! I can't take it!

What do I tell the people that ask me this? How on earth do you handle it?

just laugh an dsay your snakes arnt big enough,

because larger snakes especially burms from what i understand will actually size u up by laying next to you or by you. so in this there right but them thinking your baby corn is gonna start at a finger and work tword the toes is stupid.. which is what they mean.. a comment like that would lead me to believe they feel snakes are blood thirsty and well we all know they arnt.. lol there not domesticated but they do tolerate us handling them

tell them that they are idiots and that their "vet" is an even bigger idiot who wasted untold dollars and 8 years of their life going through med/vet school if they actually believe that load of crap
