BP- Specific waste question
Hello BP.net today was feeding day, I went to feed my female pastel and she had runny "poo" for a lack of a better word all over, On the bowl, fake plant, and her other waste on the 3/4 of the tank. normally i wouldnt be concerned but i was just yesterday extremely impressed with her large dropping that was huge and solid helahty looking yesterday. im not trying to over analyze anything just thought i would ask for maybe input with someone with more experience also i am using paper towels in my 41qts until my precuts come in and i do like how i can monitor the droppings and contaminated areas of bedding with ease. also just got my butter today YEAH pics will be up soon.

lol so im guessing this is normal? she had a huge one yesterday and today there was just brown runs over everything. i cleaned it up but was wondering if this could be a sign of parasites or somthing of that nature that should be tended to, like a fecal exam?

I wouldn't rush off to the vet over 1 runny poo thats just me. If it happened again then i would think something was up.

Re: BP- Specific waste question
I think sometimes they will pee and the pee will mix with the poo to make a big, runny mess. Can't say for sure what's going on...but if I were in your shoes, I'd probably just watch and see if it happens again and then consider consulting a vet.

thats the plan. To be honest I could be over analyzing but i think that i was just so astonished by the size of yesterdays that i was shocked LOL. I will look out for it and see what happens also, extreme odor was an indicator for bearded dragons and parasites. does this transfer with BP's just curious? but she is growing like a weed so im not extremely worried just kind of wanted to run it by, thanks for the responses.

well, i think foul odour is dependent on what they eat, and proteins usually make things stinky, but I would say if the smell is more overwhelming than usual(because snake poop can be damn stinky sometimes) it could be a cause for concern. just keep an eye on things

hey! iI've noticed my babies seem to poop out some really foul things. The adults seem to have less digestive issues so long as their diet isn't changed too radically. When i switch my girls who will eat anything from rats to mice and vice versa, they seem to have one or two runny stool before things get back to normal. Also, if they are over or underfed (after fasts i"ll sometimes give an extra mouse) and their first poop is pretty unpleasant if they haven't eaten in awhile. If they only ate a small meal, if their next meal is much bigger, they tend to have grosser deposits.
So pretty much whenever things change a lot, they seem to show it. I'd recommend a yearly or biannual fecal testing just to make sure they don't have anything really nasty! Obviously FT only feeders have less problems in that department...
