    New Fashion Statement Perhaps...

If you look closely at Erikson's head, you can see something is off with the scales... I don't know if they are missing or if they are scars, seeing as I'm new to BP's and I've never dealt with scars or missing scales with my other snakes before... Just looking for your opinions... Thanks!

Yeah it does look as if the scales are missing, no big deal. This could have been something that happened while in the egg or shortly after he got out of the egg. Wait a couple months and about 6-7 good sheds and i bet it would look a whole lot better. As long as regular eating a defacating habits aren't changed, i wouldn't worry abou it.

They're not really missing--they're just dulled from head rubbing. A few layers of cells have gotten scraped away. Usually this happens during shedding, or sometimes when the snake has been squeezing into tight spots. It should go away with the next shed--or, more likely, it'll move around to affect different scales.

Its hard to tell from the pics but I would agree with the two above posts. He should be alright in a couple of sheds.
