    Axanthic Caramel Albino

I'm currently breeding my male VPI axanthic to my caramel albino female this year to get some double hets. Was wondering if anyone has produced these so I could see some pictures. Kind of was a wild pairing, and went with it. Not really sure what to expect, and obviously won't happen for a while, but was curious to see if there was a final product anywhere? Thanks.

I think axanthic is negative tyrosinase and positive tyrosinase for caramel albino so they can't combine.

If you dig through the Bragging post on VPI's site it was posted in 2009.

They're pretty cool. I'd love to see and updated pic of this combo.

You must have been confused. Axanthics lack xanthophores. Regular albinos are the ones that lack tyrosinase.

    Re: Axanthic Caramel Albino

I know there have also been TSK axanthic double hets with caramel for some time (think TSK calls caramel "xanthic"). I was fortunate to get a pair of 100% het caramels from Marshall Van Thorre's project that are possible het TSK axanthic and also 50% chance het hypo. Heck of a long shot but would love to see the axanthic caramel glow (or would you call it a true ghost caramel?)?
