    Angry Very Disturbing IMO

If you want to hear or see something truly disturbing when it comes to humans doing whatever they please watch these videos and then do some research on the rattlesnake round up of Texas. I am shocked and just disgusted with the world.

Not even going to watch the vids because it'd just make me angry. I've always been disgusted by rattlesnake roundups. Really hate ignorant people...

I'm not watching them either. I have been signing petitions against these roundups for years

Not defending the round up at all, because I feel most any continuous mass collection disrupts the natural eco with most animals, but has anyone wondered what happens to many of the species of reptiles that are wild collected or farmed and dont make it into the pet trade and are sent to some dank hole in the wall to either be "dinner" or turned into luxury items, that we all support in one way or another.

what they dont tell you is how many rattle snakes there are in texas in the wild, there are millions and growing, IM NOT DEFENDING IT, but as a hunter i can understand what they are doing cuz if you think about it what natural predators does it really have to keep the population down? eventually the state would just be so over run with rattle snakes, just like how where i live (north jersey) we have become so over run with bears that they have become use to ppl and have resulted in several major attacks cuz ppl start to see them as pets, so now they just started a bear hunt this year. yeah it sucks but there really is just too many of them and atleast they arent just killing them and doing nothing with them (the rattle snakes), but on the other hand im sure the ppl running it dont care about population of the snake and will keep doing it till theres nothing left

The biggest factor of rattlesnake populations is how much prey is available. Well-fed females will readily breed and have much larger clutches, poorly fed animals may just perish.

    I'd happily eat snake.

However, the entire 'roundup' phenomenon treats the animal inhumanely.

I eat meat. I kill wild animals and eat them as well.

However, I don't capture the animals I harvest and, prior to dispatching them, put them on display in terrible living conditions for others to gawk at as I put on a show.

I have zero issue with hunting snakes. I have zero issue with responsible population management if harvesting some animals will IMPROVE an ecosystem.

However, the 'rattlesnake roundups' are done for serious profit. Any negative impact on species populations is going to be ignored as long as money is being made.
