What is the best way to sell your babies??
I've only ever produced a few clutches(1 per season) and only sold to friends, friends of friends and friends of family but I am now planning to expand my production to multiple clutches per season. I have seen many places online that have had snakes for sale but I do not want to have to go through the hassle of creating/maintaining my own website. However I have also seen snakes for sale in other places..aka faunaclassifieds, craigslist, or even youtube!
So my question is, What is the best way to sell your hatchlings (that are not your precious holdbacks) quickly and easily and without worry? Is it online? Through personal connections? Through petstores(good ones that take care of the animals properly)? At reptile shows? What have been your experiences and what are the good and bad about any of these options?
THANKS!

What exactly do you mean by quick easy and with out worry? If you mean you sell the babies and never have to deal with the customer again then you are talking about selling to a wholesaler. You can hatch them out of the egg call up the wholesaler, sell them for about 25% of their retail price and never have to deal with a single customer. Wholesalers don't call you and tell you their snake won't eat or that it struck at them. The trade off is you have to be willing to sell your animals for less then wholesale because the wholesalers sell the animals (at wholesale prices) to the retailers.
Or you can sell directly to retailers. That comes with a little more hassle than selling to wholesalers. The retailer may not want do give you wholesale price because they can get wholesale from their distrbutor already. Or they may hassel you about an animal that doesn't eat because they keep them 10 to a cage. Another option, you can sell on one of the pay to advertise sites or at a show. But, then you are out cash up front to buy the table or ads. You will also have to deal with customers and giving customer service.
So it really is up to you what you want to do. If you want to sell your animals fast and cheap sell to a wholesaler. If you want to get what they are worth out of them sell retail.

Kingsnake, Fauna, Iherp, BP.Net, RTB.net, anywhere with a forum about snakes and a classified forum in there would be good even craigslist is a good place to sell u might have to deal with some idiots but it shouldnt be too bad and maybe u could try putting an ad in ur local newspaper but that cost money

Quickly and easily will depends on a lot of things, quality of your animals, your reputation etc
Even with quality animals and a good rep you might have to sit on those hatching for 6 months a year.
There is no quick and easy when it comes to selling animals unless you wholesale them.
As for where to sell, I tend to prefer selling online for now, works for me.

By 'quick' I mean I dont have the necesarry caging or resources to hold on to 30-40 hatchlings for more than a year, by 'easy' I mean I do this as a hobby(or as I like to refer to it a 'profitable hobby' because it supports itself and brings in a little extra cash), not as a business and 'without worry' I mean I dont want to have to worry that my babies are being mistreated mishandled or poorly taken care of.
Thanks

Out of curiousity, what are some examples of wholesalers? Not saying I'd use them as a first choice because I wouldnt, but as a last resort it might be useful to know of a few..
Thanks

If you go on KS you will see ads every now and than saying "buying BP morphs" but personally if I was to going to go that route there is only one person I would see myself selling to and it would be Ben Siegle.
You can also look into finding a privately own pet store near you, they will often buy normals.

I x2 this Ben is a good guy. There are a few companies ( I wont mention )on KS that run ads wanting to purchase wholesale , but IMO I personally wouldnt sell them a week old rotten f/t rat. I have a local shop here that takes my normals for instore credit, which works for me.

Yeah if your expecting to make ALL your money back AND profit, your in the wrong business. I would go to kingsnake, fauna, or the classifieds on here to find someone to buy your snakes. Recently i have had luck on craigslist, but people are stupid and if it's not free or $10, they don't want it.
