Light Tent?

Im planning on make this light tent

But I was wondering if I can use black paper or any other color and if it would work with this light tent?

Yes you can. The only thing to watch is if you use a colour background that A, it will reflect that colour on to the animal and B, if you use a auto white balance (which is NOT a good idea use a custom or a fixed preset even if it is not correct at least they will all be wrong the same amount and can be batch corrected) a coloured background often will cause it to go wrong.
