To Trade or Not To Trade?? Opinions??

I just picked up my new little male bumble bee. I had plans of pairing him up with my lesser woma female I just got, but now a new trade came my way. I had someone offer me a female spider het hypo weighing in at 700 grams and comes from a very reputable breeder. I'm stumped on if I should do the trade or not. I know females are very important in any breeding collection and trading him would put me out of males til this early season. What are your opinions on what I should do??

Ya I know. I have my 5 females being bred to a friends males. And my friend is getting me a lesser male for $100 and can get me a male bee early in the year for $200. I have a good chance of getting a decent male from my pairings this season so that shouldn't be a problem.

Keep in mind friend, there is a big difference between a NICE bumblebee and a browned out ugly bumblebee. If it's high yellow with little browning do it, but if not, you will be dissapointed down the road.

I wouldn't do the trade cause lesserbees are cooler than trying to make honeybee's. Then again it depends what direction you want to go with your breeding, you obviously have enough females!!

Ya I think I'm gonna keep the bee!! I love the lesserbee and want a chance at a queenbee woma. Plus my pastel will make some nice killerbees next season. She's being paired with either a cinpin or a jigsaw blast this year!!

Your male will be up to breeding weight etc quicker then the female would be my guess Cant go wrong with a little 2 gene bumblebee!

Ya that is true!! I was thinking of trading tho cause I can get an early 2011 male bee for $200. So I think the trade would be well worth it.
