    Re: dart frog ???

I've read some frog-keepers say you shouldn't house different species in the same viv. However, I'm not into frogs and haven't read a ton about them, so I don't know if that is a widely held standard or not.

    The things to consider:

What are the exact husbandry requirements for each frog? Are they the same for each species you're considering? If not, then it is NOT a good idea to house them together.

Also...what are the territory needs for each frog, and are there any aggression issues that need to be considered?

Those are the first questions I'd be thoroughly researching before ever mixing species of anything in a viv. Sorry I don't have more specific answers, though!

Doh...my apologies for reading too quickly! I still don't know solid answers, but it SEEMS like it would be ok. We don't have a ton of frog keepers on this site, but hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me will be able to give you a more confident answer.

I keep a group of 3 azureus together, and when I bought them I was told that only same species can stay in same tank otherwise they will fight! I hope I dont get introuble for this but there is a good frog forum that helps me out alot because I have quite a few frogs.

i have done this but with differnet dart frog. if they are juvinials it seems to work fine. they see eachother as the same frogs. although if you are planning on breeding them the froglets will be worth nothing. you do need to watch the behavior of the frogs. if one stops eating, if one is drowning the other, and if one is bullying the other, these are all signs that the mix is not working.
    good luck

Yes, just as long as one isn't larger than the other.
