    New pair of Rats

    Seen these at work today and had to have them.

    Look like long hairs to me. Picked up the only 1.1 of them in litter.

    Yeah the whiskers didn't look curly enough to be Rex, so yeah they must be Velveteen. Although with as straight as those whiskers are, they could be long hair.

    Has to be a Rex due to full body wavy/curly hair.

    Whiskers are not straight at all. They curl forwards

    Is there anything special about them other than the coat. They were brought in for new blood.

    Nothing special, it's co-dom the super form is a double rex/velveteen called patchwork.

    This is my double rex dwarf male shortly after he regrew his hair.

    Velveteen is not curly, it's crinkled.
    And very crinkled at that
    There is whats called loose rex, made from breeding 2 double rex's together I believe, it's still curly just not as curly as a regular rex.

    I guess when they are older i will dinker around with my het dumbos and try for some double rex dumbos.
