Why We Should Watch Buggin Out Tonight!
I figured I would blog about a friend of mines show that premieres tonight at 9pm on the Discovery Science Channel and why we all need to get behind it and watch it. For anyone that is involved in the exotic animal hobby this is really the first show that is based on our hobby. Everyone knows that I have personally been working on a TV deal. This show is setting the ground work for future shows like mine. Ken’s show will be about his business selling Tarantulas, Millipedes, and exotic bugs of all kinds. You guys know that I am totally afraid of bugs, but the truth is this potential series will finally be showing our hobby in the proper light. The reptile hobby and the bug hobby go hand in hand and if anyone has ever went to a reptile show you know that there are always the bug dealers there and many times the hobbies cross over. Ken has to get good ratings for the next couple of weeks in order to get picked up into a full series. We as a community need to make sure that he gets picked up so that he can continue showing the World a side of our hobby that they have yet to see. At the same time if he has success it will help other projects like mine or who ever’s project to get picked up. Networks are funny and they are afraid to take chances on shows like this, if it fails it will cause other networks to shy away from shows that will help explode our hobby as well as show people that what they have been seeing on some networks in total B.S. For now this is ground breaking and huge for our hobby, we need to all get behind Ken and “Buggin Out” and make sure that the network gets tons of positive feedback. I for one will be e-mailing them after the show to let them know how much I loved it! Help our hobby by watching ans spreading the word! Thanks, Brian(BHB)

i was so excited when i found out ken was getting his own show, it was like christmas for me. i completely agree with you. its both educational & it shows that tarantulas & other inverts arent just blood thirsty monsters. when i found out he was getting his own show i told EVERYBODY i knew. alot of my buddies & everybody that knows i keep tarantulas think im crazy because all they ever hear is bad information on them. most people are misinformed when it comes to tarantulas so this is deffinetly a milestone on the road to putting the tarantula hobby on the map. this is a great opportunity to give people the right information & show the true side of the hobby. i really hope his show works out & hope you get your chance at a show too.
