    Bumble Bee or Pastave?

    Back to asking questions again,

I have some plans for the future for some of my BPs, just not sure what to pair up with what.

Although I will be acquiring more morphs as it seems in the next year, but for now I'm looking at my decisions with some of my current morphs.

I've got four morphs now, which include a Pastel female, Spider male, Pinstripe female, and Mojave male.

Not exactly sure what to pair up with what, but as for my Pastel girl for next year's breeding in '11 I'm deciding whether to pair her up with the Mojave or the Spider.

Pics will be posted of them at the end of the thread, but if you had to make this decision, which would you choose to try to make? Bee or Pastave? I'm not trying to make anyone decide for me, but I'd like to see how many people would rather try to produce one or the other, which does help my decision making.

    Here are the cuties,

    Pastel female

    Mojave male

    Spider male

I would make bees because they are alot nicer looking in my opinion! I am a sucker for spider morphs!

If it were me, I would go for a Bee first. You can make some really neat stuff with that. Bee/Pin combo would be cool for later on. Mojave/Bee would be interesting too.

If it were my decision to make, I'd have to look at the values each of the possibilities are.

How much is a Bee, Pastave, Jigsaw, and Spinner selling for? But that's what my deciding factor would be based on.

If I were just breeding them so I could have it for myself, I'd probably just do the "who's your daddy" thing, as I wouldn't be able to decide which one I like best...they're all smokin snakes!
Lots of BPs, and still not enough!

This is addictive...what did I get myself into?...

If it was up to me I would do

    Spider X Pastel

    Mojave X Pinstripe

Than if you are lucky and hit some good odds I would do Bumblebee X Jigsaw

I like the possibility of the Bee x Jigsaw if you hit the odds right!

    Re: Bumble Bee or Pastave?

    Hi,

She only asked about what to breed to the pastel though?

I just had an intresting 15 minutes making an idiot of myself trying to work out the odds per egg in messenger with a mathematician.

he keeps trying to make me think despite the known dangers of doing so ( as a great writer once said ).

You know the oft repeated line that using multiple males increases your chance of hatching normals? - poppycock!

Please bear in mind the following is purely the probability of each outcome per egg and in no way intended as a clutch predictor.

If you breed both the mojave and the spider to the pastel female the chances of hatching a pastel or a normal both remain at 25%.

But the remaining 50% (which should be the paternal morph gene+ maternal normal or morph gene ) gets a little complicated and subdivided into the 4 possible options ( with two fathers ) instead of the 2 options in a single fathered clutch.

Thanks for all your inputs, I really do appreciate it I'm thinking about going with Mojave x Pastel next year, then the year after that I'll do what Deb said:
