    Im A Bit Worried.

well i got this small sable male who is about 114 grams and i have noticed that these past few weeks that when i hold him he starts to get stiff like when im holding him and most of its body is going down my hand that he will start to swing it around really fast in big circles and any one who has monitors or tegus might know what im talking about with their tails. i gave no thought to this until today when i thought hit me that it might be Inclusion body disease and i was ohh #$@%. he feed ok drinks ok sheds ok and does not been stargazing like i read on it. so can any one help me on this i know i might be a little to worried but its better safe than sorry. and does any one know how much would it be for this to be checked on by a vet i am planning to go but there is no vet around here that i know of that takes reptiles hope you guys can help thanks.

    Re: Im A Bit Worried.

My Spider BP gets very tense when I first take him out because he's normally a nervous guy. I have another idea of what you mean by stiff because I've seen Kingsnakes and Milksnakes do that before,

Although the closest thing I could really think of similarly is that your snake tenses up right after you take him out because he gets a little scared.

About the lower body thing, a lot of snakes will swing around their lower ends of their bodies because they don't feel supported enough in that area. So if it's hanging down they might swing around a little bit because they don't feel supported in that area of their body.

It would help to see a video and show us what you're talking about, but if he's fine and eats & drinks normally then I'm sure he's okay and doesn't have IBD.

Based on what you described, I agree with Tiffany. It sounds like he may be moving his tail around looking for something to hold on to...

The lil guy is just tense, support his whole body when handling.
