I have a 08 Mojave that's 1350 grams that favors mice. I give he retired breeders that are 30-45 grams. I give he 2-3 each feeding.

well that's good it works out the same, I figure you'd pay more per feeder at the pet store, couldn't you go to a show and buy a bunch of frozen feeders for cheaper tho

    Re: how many mice

This time of year I feed until they stop eating. Admittedly, that's easier to do with f/t. My 1300 gram female is taking 3-4 adults, or 1-2 XL mice per week. In winter 1 XL mouse per week is plenty.

I get my XL mice from Big Cheese, and it really is about 50% cheaper. Even with shipping.

you know my female is 1350g+ and eats about 6-8 lg mice in one week.

and thats just thinking, mice dont have as much meat on them as rats.

even a weaned rat has more muscle and thicker bones for calcium then mice.

i figure one small but good thick rat is the equivalant as 5-6 mice.

its just if the mice are on the slim side that i give her 8.

    hope i helped :-)

    Re: how many mice

If you can find Mommy Mice, you'll only need 2-3 per week. Not too expensive either. No where near the money that 6 mice would cost.

My Lesser seems to be a mouse eater, I've tried many things, but so far she hasn't shown any interest in rats.

    Good Luck!
