Handeling snake before shed...

I don't know if this is true for most snakes or not but I've found that my little girl is alway extremely calm during the blue eye phase just before a shed.

I know alot of people have said that they don't hold their snake before shedding because of stress and the whole "might bite because they can't see" thing, but if the snake doesn't seem stressed at all, is there really any harm?

It almost seems like she's falling asleep in my hands.

Every snake has a different personality. Some are more tolerant then others. I personally do not handle my snake when he is in shed because he becomes very hissy and grumpy therefore increasing my chances of being bitten. The shedding process is a very stressful time for a snake as they feel vulnerable.

I will handle mine as long as they are not in a deep shed with fully clouded eyes, if they are in a deep shed I will leave them alone.

As stated above, it really depends on the snake, of my 27+ snakes there is only 1 that I will allow out during deep blue, and that's if she wants out, after I open her tub, she knows my scent because she is out daily with me.
