What are your temps, enclosure size, means of heating, etc..?

You need to give us a run down of how you are doing things.

Re: water dragon hasnt eaten since i got it home

    Hey!

I've had my CWD for 8mos now and when he came home he would not eat anything. I posted on so many forums and even called the reptile specialist at my local zoo. I was doing everything right, they couldn't say why he wouldn't eat. I kept him alive by feeding him chicken dinner flavor baby food through an eyedropper. I would squeeze a little onto his face and he would lick it up.

Everyone told us what I'm going to tell you, the cage you have (and the cage you're building) are too small. We went from a 20long fishtank to a a tank from this sheet that is 32x19x26. The internet community would not let up that even that tank was too small.

My CWD loves it. He never ate (and bashed and rubbed the glass even with paper taped over it) until he got into the new cage which has a half water half land bottom and saw his fish friends. I consistantly offered him crickets and worms while he would not eat. The first day that I offered crickets after he moved in with the fish, he ate the crickets right away.

He is now a little beast who gobbles large crickets a dozen in a sitting!

But...he is rapidly outgrowing even this cage and will soon need the 6foot by 4foot by 2foot cage that forums were suggesting I build now.
