Lightbulb Pied combos, head pattern only?

I am a big fan of the spied (or any pied morph for that matter). Has anyone seen any pied morphs besides the panda pied that has had any pattern on the body not just the head? Has anyone else even made more spieds yet? Im not complaining AT ALL, but it will be interesting to see what comes of pied morphs (if its head only or not). I can't wait to add some to my collection. So many choices...

    The answer is: yes

Many regular homozygous (visual) pieds that don't carry any of the other commonly bred for single allele traits have some body pattern. Some are even almost all pattern.

I have seen generous portions of both white and pattern exhibited on the same snake for a few pied combos, including ghost pieds and pastel pieds. I think that the color-only mutations are the least likely to influence pattern on snakes that exhibit the piebald trait (for obvious reasons).

A few other traits have shown that when combined with the pied trait to cause white bodies with only head pattern.. spider among them.

There was a NERD video posted on this website recently in 3 parts, and the 3rd part contained (if I remember correctly) an enchi pied.. and apparently the enchi trait tends to cause the pied trait to be almost ALL body pattern in multiple snakes that express both traits.

    I hope that helps.

There are mojave pieds with a fair amount of color; ditto clown pieds.

Oddly enough, I just Googled the "pinstripe pied" and the pin pieds have lots of color! Makes me wonder what it is about the spider and cinnamon mutations that pushes all the pattern to the head ...

Re: Pied combos, head pattern only?

my male and female mojave pieds. they are both pied the male is just low/no white. the pied gene kept the mojave colors but warped the pattern.

I believe that pewter pieds are head only patterned.
