male/female any reason to get 1 or the other?
as the title says is there any reason for a pet to get a male versus a female? how much bigger do the females get? whatever I do end up getting will be kept in tubs and eventually a boaphile 4x2.

Well if you're looking fto have a snake as strictly a snake and don't want to ever breed, the only factor then would be size. Males grow to about 3-3 1/2 feet, while females grow to about 4-5 feet. 5 ft is a VERY large female ball python. I havent seen any of those. But other than size there's no difference. M/f's retain and lose the same amount of colors, temperments are the same, feeding habits are the same.

well if your looken at red tails, females get about,7-8 foot. But thats not to say , they dont get bigger or smaller but females do, have alot more girth. while males get 6 to 7 foot but, alot less girth but everthing else is the same.

Get a male if you want to keep it in a 4 x 2. That is a tad too small for some females, they're more comfy in a 6 x 2.
