    Humidity, it seams like

Humidity, It seams like a lot of ball keeper go out of there way to keep the Humidity up in there enclouse. myself I don't do anything extra, just good old house level of about 40%. .

    question is.

Are you adding to the humidity level because of a exesting dry sheds problem or as a prevention. If prevention have you tryed keeping the snake/snakes with out it, to see its even needed?

Well considering their natural habitat's humidity ranges from 45-70 year round, your just trying to replicate it. The whole deal about humidity is for overall snake health and good sheds. If it's too dry, you could start to have wheezing from stuck shed in the nostrils, which can lead to other things. When it's too wet, you could have RI's and scale rot.

Just try and get the humidity to around 60% and you will be set, but misting only lasts for so long, that's why most people use tubs.

    Re: Humidity, it seams like

Agreed, you want to keep humidity at about 50 - 60% because that's what the ball pythons were "made" to live in. It's best for them because it's natural for them.

You also want to bump up the humidity during sheds because the snake doesn't need to have the shed on for any long period of time, and both you and the snake don't need the added stress of stuck sheds.

Tattered sheds is why we try to replicate humidity and I bet your humidity in the enclosure is higher than 40% if your getting one piece sheds

    Re: Humidity, it seams like

I keep my humidity right around 55%. When they are real close to shedding, I move the water bowl closer to the heat source. And that usually puts it around 75%. I didn't do this one time and ended up having to soak her to get all the shed off. So it pays to to keep the humidity at the right levels.
