    Nutrition?

So since I got some rats and know they're quite a bit different than mice, I'm curious about what %'s of protein, fat, ect work well for breeding rats. A general number (i.e., "20-25%" or whatever) will work.

I'm also curious about what type of ingredients rats can't digest or don't do well with so I don't buy a dog food or anything with that as one of the most common ingredients.

16 to 18 percent is really what you are shooting for with rats, higher protein content is not recommended.

Mice can also do fine with that level but higher protein content might be needed in some cases.

Main thing you want to avoid is red dye.

Definitely avoiding any and all dyes.

What about other things like fat content and fiber?
