    Valuable lesser combo's?

I am looking to make a little money for college while still enjoying my hobby. I already own a 2010 male Lesser, so I have a little while to decide, but I was wondering what combo's can be made with a lesser and what is the most valuable in terms of: cost of parents to resale value. I was thinking BEL since mojaves run 200-250. Also, what is an appropriate breeding age/weight?

BEL's are sick! good money in those, if you can detatch yourself from it to sell.
by the way lesserxlesser or lesserxbutter make the better BEL

    lessers make any combo great,

queen bees(pastelxlesserxspider)i think its actually a killer queen
    pastel lesser
ghost lesser(recessive ghost, both parents need the gene.)
i think its called a king pin (pastelxlesserxpin)
    lesser calico
    lesser bee(lesserxspider)
    cinnamon lesser
    black pewter (pastelxcinnamonxlesser) or pewterxlesser

    pastels run about <200> M/F
Spiders anywhere between 150-450 depending on high whites.
    calicos 200-450

There are a number of things.

I think one of my favorite newer morphs are lesser cinnamons. They have sick flames and are also a power house breeder as they can make white and black snakes.

    Lesser bees are also hot.

What you need to look at is the value of the combo in 3-5 years which is when you'll be producing them, the cost of feeding the breeders for 3-5 years, shipping, marketing,.. So look at something like a Super Pastel Pin female or really any three gene combo.. Other wise in 3 years you'll be having your first breeding season and the babies that were selling for 1500 each are now well under a 1000.00

Good point! Also keep in mind when dealing with heterozygous co-doms you play the odds games. So you could do lesser x pastel and get no pastel lessers or get all pastel lessers. Just something to keep in mind.

Isn't a problem if you're breeding supers or homozygous recessives, because then you know with 100% certainty what is in the eggs, at least what that parent gave genetics wise.

    Re: Valuable lesser combo's?

i dont think that this plan would work out with just one pair. my mentor told me if u want to be sure u got 1 clutch breed 4 pairs together- everything that goes over 2 is a jackpot.

life doesnt work that way. u buy a lesser and a bee and breed em after 3 years- have a 8 egg clutch, get a queenbee and sell the clutch for 7k or so...

i swear it will not go out this way!!!!

with just one male and one female, the chances are really low to produce a clutch and then hit the odds...

too much stuff that get between it (like the male wont breed, the female didnt take, slugs, the male is sick at breeding season, etc etc)

i think if money is the reason u need to invest in more than just one pair.

plus the investments u make while the three years (food- maybe vet costs etc.). there are better ways to make money for colage than this...

    just my 0.02$

    Re: Valuable lesser combo's?

Thanks for the replies. I am thinking of getting a Mojave and either a pastel or enchi to start. And I am not trying make this into a "get rich quick" kind of thing, and I'm certainly not hoping for all this to pay for college, what I meant was I just wanted a little money on the side here and there to kind of support my hobby and possibly add to it you know. And even if I don't make money, it was nice thought and I'm sure I will have enjoyed every minute of it along the way, so not much of a loss for me anyway, at least the way I see it. Haha, guess I should have clarified all this from the beginning.

That is not true. Lesser x mojaves and lesser x lessers look identical.

Dont do it for the money. People who do it for the money pick pre-existing snakes that are likely being bred for to a huge extent, for the money. Get into it to produce cool/never before seen/rare snakes. Why? Well that's where the money is, and it's also a lot more fun to do.
