2 Fuzzies vs 1 Mouse?
hello all, my new BP is about 21 inches. I fed her for the 1st time last week with a thawed fuzzy in a separate feeding tank. I used tongs to hold the fuzzy in front of her and in just seconds she snatched it and ate it. After she was done she kept movin around like she was lookin for somethin, so i thought she might still be hungry so i thawed one more fuzzy and an hour and a half later i dangled it with tongs and again within a couple seconds she snatched it and ate it up no problem.
So my question is .....Is it better to feed her 2 fuzzies (which are just a tad smaller than her girth if not equal to), or 1 mouse which would be slightly larger than her girth? ...any advice greatly appreciated!!!!

the larger the rodent that she is able to take the better. reason a larger rodent, a larger bone structure. the snake gets calcuim from the bone structure

Re: 2 Fuzzies vs 1 Mouse?
Fuzzies are not appropriate size food for a BP, you need to feed something about equal to it's girth size.
Even feeding 2 fuzzies would still be too little as far as food amount goes, time to upgrade your BP to something a little more significant

Re: 2 Fuzzies vs 1 Mouse?
I have a 4 month old male BP that is currently on small adult mice. They are now becoming to small for him. I will be putting him on rat pups. Fuzzies are not an appropriate siazed meal for a baby ball python.

Out of curiousity, you didn't buy him from a pet smart did you?
I've found that not only do they generally underfeed, but they also encourage the underfeeding to continue.

Re: 2 Fuzzies vs 1 Mouse?
My boy who is 21" and 150 grams eats 1 rat pup every 5-7 days and would eat more often if I were willing to give it to him. So I would definitely increase the size of the prey.
1.0 Normal bp (Monte)
0.1 Puggle (Sadie)
0.1 Crazy cat (Koco)
1.0 Husband (Gary)
‘We all operate in two contrasting modes, which might be called open and closed. The open mode is more relaxed, more receptive, more exploratory, more democratic, more playful and more humorous. The closed mode is the tighter, more rigid, more hierarchical, more tunnel-visioned. Most people, unfortunately spend most of their time in the closed mode.’

Because they are woefully under educated on the proper care of reptiles.
