    Hide Question

So I'm thinking about getting my bp a new hide. He doesn't really fit in his cold hide anymore, so he def needs one of those. He still goes into his warm hide, but I was considering buying a matching one.

When is a hide too small for my bp? He still fits the warm hide, but really is packed in tight, and has had to move substrate out of the hide to fit. Too small?

    Re: Hide Question

When the hide sits on top of the snake it's too big
    They love it snug.

    Re: Hide Question

When your snake starts wearing the hide like a hat then you know it is time for a new one.

Having two of the same hides is best, but as long as they do not choose one over the other for security, then it is not a huge deal if they are not the same.

I just ran into this problem myself! Tiberious now flops out of his hides or else they sit on top of him so I purchased two medium sized black hides from reptile basics. Last night as soon as I put it in he went over to explore and settle in. I am changing out the other one today :-) He went from just under 300g to about 525g before I had to change.
