Heh... so far I'm the oldest, or at least GOT my snake at the oldest age. I got my first snake only 1.5 years ago, at the tender age of 32. I'm up to 29 snakes already (including the 6 I produced myself), so I've been making up for lost time!

I have been around reptiles my whole life, I was practically raised with them. As I was growing up we always had dogs and reptiles, that was it. For my 8th birthday my dad took me to buy my own reptile, I bought a normal ball python, unfortunately it didn't live very long, I could only assume that back then it was a wild caught and was probably sick from the beginning, but we'll never know.

Re: how old were you at your first purchase??

I adopted a snake when I was 18 but had to keep it at my girlfriend house because my parents wouldn't have that at all. Then I move out at 19 and bought my first snake about 2 months later at tinley park

Re: how old were you at your first purchase??

I did my first Repticon show in Orlando last October (I sell lucite bug specimens and jewelry) http://www.LuciteTreasures.com I've always liked snakes, but were a little creeped out by them. I had a Pac man frog that ate hoppers 15 years ago, so I didn't mind feeding. The breeder in the next booth traded me a female normal for a bat in lucite. I've done every Repticon Orlando since, and the National Reptile Breeders show in Daytona (got my first morph) 47was a bit old to start a new hobby, but I'm hooked.

Bought my first ball python almost 20 years ago, when I was 19 and in the army. Kept him hidden in my barracks room.

Re: how old were you at your first purchase??

As far as BPs go...2 years ago at 35 which makes me the oldest that I can tell so far.
as far as owning toads, box turtles, lizards, garters, etc...I was quite young..under age 10.
