Insulation
I'm new to this snake stuff and have learned much from this site so I thought I'd share something I found today in case someone else might find it useful.
I was able to regulate my temps in a glass enclosure (screen lid) with the conventional uth and an infared heating bulb. However, I have been using the misting method to keep the humidity above 50%. I realized this was unstable and not practical in the long term. After reviewing several of the "tin foil screen lid" posts and tutorials, I figured this was probably my solution.
Went to Home Depot and found "Frost King" duct insulation. Comes in a 15 foot by 12 inch roll and it's essentially 1/8" inch thick foam with a thick foil backing on one side and a sticky adhesive on the other. Cost was 15 bucks.
For the lid, I simply stuck tin foil to the adhesive side and cut to fit on top of my enclosure. It's been on the tank for a few hours now and the humidity is in the high 50's. Problem solved! Costs a little more than the utilitarian method but it came out real clean. I live in So. Cal so temps aren't a problem right now but I will probably wrap the back and sides with this stuff when winter rolls around. Might work well for those who choose a glass enclosure and live in cold climates and don't have the heated reptile room.

I put tin foil on the top of my screen and left just enough place for the light. I'm still struggling with humidity!...
