    Smile First Babies

I started breeding mice a little over a month ago. I have them in litter pans in a home made rack. To start I just wanted to test the water so I paired up a 1.2.

A few days ago I noticed one of the females looked like she was about to pop, the other showed no signs of being pregnant.

So I move the pregnant mom down a tub and she gave birth to two babies. lol. It was her first time ever being bred. Is it normal for a new mom to have as little as two babies?

She is taking good care of them, they seem to be getting larger every day. She, the mom, is looking good too.

I'm hoping the other female gets pregnant, if she isn't already, and has a few more than two babies.

I'm also thinking of adding a few more females to the mix.

2 babies is very little. May just be the first time problem.

Nice job with getting a litter though. I just got rid of my mice after around 6 months of them mindlessly raping each other with no babies to show for it, even with two groups from two different places. Urgh.
