    Grrrrrrr what should i do?

Well here is the deal. I found someone offering a free year old bp. I want it. The issue is I don't know if I can find space or afford another one. The bp is a male about 2 ft long and has a full set up. It eats well. Apperently this lady got him for her husband and he never took to it. What should I do and why does this have to be so addictive?

    Time to build a rack.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

Well heres the thing. If you cannot afford a $3 rat every week and the aspen to go with it, than don't. If the setup is pretty much there I would look at it and the snake before you get him.

Research into RI infections before you get him. You can get bad luck with any snake, but you can prevent the obvious problems.

you have answered your own question.your emotions say "i want it".your practical side says "no space, can't afford it".

Re: Grrrrrrr what should i do?

I know it. I can "afford it" barring needing a vet trip right now and i could make space somewhere. I have been talking on and off with the lady who owns it and someone else is interested. i told her to let me know if they don't take it. im still kinda on the fence.

Re: Grrrrrrr what should i do?

I have three bp's right now that are just pets and would love to get more but that is what keeps me from jumping in - is the fact that the food and caging isn't the problem it is the unexpected expense of vet care should one or many of them get sick.

I had to take my normal to the vet - it turned out to be nothing but it still costs me upwards of $200

Good luck with your decision - you just have to do whats right for your situation.

I often ask myself "do I really need another snake or am I just being greedy" - that usually helps me to put it off again until the next urge strikes.

Re: Grrrrrrr what should i do?

Im kinda thinking if the the deal with the other person falls through i will take it. it is a free ball python with set up. I will do further research on it before i finalize anything. i guess we will see what happens. hmm i do kinda think a tank "rack" could look good in my living room.

Is there care credit in the states? We have it up here in Fairbanks, Alaska. It's like a credit card for vet offices. I would look into that if unexpected vet stuff pops up.
