Doesn't curl in2 ball..... unhealthy?
I have a question... some few sites I read said that if your BP doesn't alertively curl up into a ball that it isn't healthy... anyone comments? I held a bunch at this huge reptile show @ hamburg.... not very many of the bp's cared about being held lol
my bp is like 5 months, never missed a meal every friday, goes bathroom, sheds fine, but shes like totally tranquil when held. i held her probably every day for atleast 5 mins, sometimes i let her chill outside of the tank on a towel on my bed or something.. lol

As far as i know that is prefectly normal for them to not curl into a ball when they are younger they definitely curl up because they are shy and afraid but once u handle them as much as u have been handlin yours they get pretty chilled out and wont curl up into a ball anymore well rarely

Just because a ball python does not curl into a ball, does not mean it is unhealthy. Some are just a little more tolerant than others.

Re: Doesn't curl in2 ball..... unhealthy?
one other question, I have a regular bp and a ghost bp, male/female, is it ok to house them while their babies? their in a 20 gallon, each one could easily live in a 10 gal... and they are always cuddled together lol

as i was once told by someone on here cant remember who said it but they said cuddling is cute but its not good
i think its ok at a young age if they are both from same clutch but you want to keep them seperated as one will show dominance over the other causing eating problems i myself dealt with this recently and im currently workin on my rack and hopefully ill get my girl eating again soon

"Cuddling" is usually competition for the best hot and cold spots. I would separate them, but they would be okay as a temporary thing, just try and separate them as soon as possible.

Re: Doesn't curl in2 ball..... unhealthy?
not balling up isnt anything to worry about, i have never seen my normal ball up as a hatchling and she was healthy then.
u should separate them. either in differnt tanks or tubs or just put up a divider in the tank
A room full of empty racks and thermostats that have been unplugged.

You could use a ten gallon for now, but eventually you will need to upgrade. I am sure you could fit one in your room, my room is 10x10 and I have nine tanks in here. You could use metal racks like I do, a book shelf, set them up on your furniture, etc. there are many different things you could do to solve the problem.
Here is some of my set ups:

0.1.0 Bumble Bee- Schnapps
0.1.0 Pinstripe- Penny
0.1.0 Super Cinnamon- Cleo

how many hides do you have? should be fine as youngsters just make sure you got three hides or at least an extra dark spot.
