    update on my rescue ball

first thanks to all who have offered advice and support. little boy no longer has a RI, his temps are all stable in his tank. he has totally relaxed in his new environment, as have i haha. hes eating normally and just had his first shed (with me). i didnt even know he was in shed, i was told they get aggressive or cranky when in shed but he was neither, handled like a champ and then wednesday i was cleaning his tank and found his skin under his hide. along with some other presents...just gross i had no idea snakes actually pooped like that lol...he seems like a sweet little guy even though hes a snake lol. anyways im glad to say im getting over the fear as i reached in and picked him up with my hands instead of a spatula for the first time lol. he does hiss a lot though when im taking him out but never strikes. oh yeah, he ate yesterday at 2 pm, saw my first mouse kill haha, anyways its now been 28 hours....is it safe to handle him or leave him alone??

It is very typical for a snake to hiss like that. My 2010 hatchling hisses at me when he is in shed and sometimes just for the heck of it. I just pick him up anyways. Congrats on doing a good job with the snake! I give my snake at least 48 hours after eating a meal before I handle him.

yeah he hisses loud and mean lol but always quits once i actually have him out of the tank. im just surprised at how friendly he was during his shed, ive heard a lot of bad things about snakes in shed lol. ive been nervous and anticipating a shed cuz im already scared of snakes and if he had gone into shed and been mean would have confirmed my theory on snakes lol but then ir ealized he had been in shed and was a sweetie and i realized i should calm down since hes never given me a reason not to trust him lol. hes a good snake dunno why someone would have thrown him out with the trash???

Just wait until you hear him fart...

I usually wait 48 hours to handle mine, just to make sure they aren't going to yack it back up...

    nice!

my sasha behaves well when in shed too. one time, i was handling her and thought that she fnished shedding (though i have not seen any skin), i picked her up and was looking at her then saw some skin peeling of then all i know she was trying to use my hand and fingers to peel her skin off. there i was sitting and holding a BP in the process of shedding. i feel so blessed lol but it was just awesome! after a minute, i decided to place her back in her tub and let her do her job.

good job in raring yours back to health!

haha thats cool. thanks, im surprised i even took him in and helped him get healthy. snakes are my BIGGEST fear, next to sharks lol, so when i found him while taking out the trash it hought about picking his tank off the gorund n throwing him inthe dumpster! lol, but im glad i didnt because i didnt just help him, hes helping me get over my fear one day at a time haha, still real creepd out when he moves and he likes to get close to my face which totally freaks me out.
