    Handling

    Hey guys I've been handling my baby ball about 2 times a week is this to little he is still spooky out of his tub but he is comfortable while I clean is this a good pattern of behavior... he hasn't tried to bit me since the first week I had him

    how old is he? i have a pastel thats a lil over a year that is still a lil pissy at times

    I don't think there is such a thing as "too little" handling. If they could have it their way, they would want no handling at all.

    That being said, most babies are a little jumpy regardless of handling. As they grow older they will mellow down a bit. Some mellow down at a young age, some are always a little feisty.

    There is such a thing as too much handling though. I would say a few times a week is fine, but make sure to give them a 2 day period of no handling after eating.

    my buddy has a baby ball and we handle it all the time but not too much to stress it out and he's never nipped or hissed, I just hope when I get mine soon he's like that because I love these guys, there probably my favorite animal other than dogs.

    for a two month old a couple times a week is fine for about 15 minutes each time. as kaorte said above, just dont handle for 48 hrs after feeding. he should come around soon. younger snakes are always more snippy than older snakes
