Live or dead is purely owners preference, as long as you thaw out the rat/mouse correctly and you are responsible about feeding live. Don't leave a live rat in the cage with a snake for more than an hour, and keep an eye on them.

In the cage, hands down. It's less stressful on the animal, they're in a familiar environment, and you don't have to handle them (and cause possible regurge issues) to and from a bin.

The best way is the one that work for your snake and is convenient for you and makes you comfortable.

F/T or Live it's about being knowledgeable about each methods and be responsible and figure out which one work best for you.

Feeding inside the enclosure is often recommended as moving a snake prior to feeding can lead to stress and refusal and will also make you more likely to get bit by an animal in feeding mode however if that work for your snake than again it's up to you.

Personally I feed in the enclosure and I feed live to all my BP, colubrids eats whatever is handy (often F/T from my surplus of rodents that I breed)

in the tank... moving an animal at supper time is just gonna stress it out... I am a huge fan of frozen thawed....I know some people prefer feeding live, but dead rats dont fight back.

I feed live and in their tubs. I have not had any issues. I agree though that you should never leave a live rat/mouse in with your snake unsupervised for any extended time frame. I leave mine in around 20-30 minutes. If they are not eaten, I take it back out and the snake is not fed again until the following week. I also would not say feeding either live or F/T is better than the other. How you feed yours is up to you and what works best.

I feed my baby ball python in his enclosure. I had him on live small adult mice. I have gotten him to take f/t small adult mice now. He really isn't picky about what he eats as long as he gets to eat period.
