I thought I would add this here as I was stumped as to why my BP would not feed.
I bought a captive hatched baby BP in June of this year, she had fed 6 times before I got her so I knew she was feeding when I brought her home. I set her up in a 6qt tub on paper gave her a hide and a water bowl. I let her be for a week and tried to feed her she refused. I waited another week and still nothing. So I talked to Lynn she said bring her out and see if she will eat here, so I did. We put her in a 6qt tub dropped in a mouse (same as at home) and BAM it was gone. So I took her home and the next Sunday tried at home nothing, waited another week and nothing. I took her back to Lynn put her back in a 6qt tub and BAM gone again! I deiced to leave her with Lynn for a couple of weeks to get her feeding well. She was feeding every time a mouse was dropped in the tub with her. I went and picked her up brought her home and set her up the same way as before she ate twice for me then went off again for 2 feedings. I called Lynn and asked what she thought it may be? We were stumped. I began going over husbandry. Temps same, setup same, rodents same, Humidity lower. HUMMM what am I going to do I have a hard time keeping it up at my house. I decided to change her set up. I moved her to a 12qt tub and put cypress mulch in it so it would hold the humidity! She has took 3 meals in a row now and is starting to catch up to the other baby I brought home at the same time!
I did not think humidity would be such a big issue but with this little one it was.
Check your humidity also when having a feeding issue!
