What i was told to do is get a spray bottle and mist the ground once a week.

The only thing that works for me is a wet hide. Damp Spaghum moss in a container, your snake can go in if he wants too. Google "wet hide" or do a search on here. There are many other ways too, water dish under light (did nothing for me). Wet towel on top of cage (never tried that one). I wouldn't just mist the substrate (scale rot) Hope this helps..

you can also make a diy humidifier with an air pump, some 1/4" air tubing, a gatorade bottle, an air stone and a glue gun. There was a thread about how to make it specifically but ever since the site re-vamp I couldn't manage to find it again. I made one so if you want I can walk you through it.

In a glass tank:
1.) Avoid using a ceramic heat emitter if at all possible, use UTH's instead.
2.) Cover the screen top of the tank with tin foil except for just a small area for ventilation.
3.) Use Cypress bedding.
4.) Use an oversized water bowl and put it on top of the UTH (I use the zoo-med reptirock - it is better for humidity on top of the UTH).
If all of those don't work, get sphagnum moss, wet it so it is damp but not dripping, put in bowls around the tank.
If that still doesn't work, put the sphagnum moss in a hide and just make sure the humidity in that hide is ideal even if the rest of the tank is not.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"
