champagne full potential ...will it be meet ?

ok 2010 is going to be my first breeding season so i dont have to much under my belt other than my animals are well taking care of and good quality for the morphs they are .....but i must ask do you guys think the champagne combos are over rated ? i do all look the same and if diffrent just slightly by diffrent shades you guys know what i mean ....spider champagne, ghost butter champ, pastel champ, fire champ , all look the same no pattern. i know the morph itself looks awesome alone and people who have them spent a nice penny on them but is this what all the combos look like anything out there that can change my mind about the champagne

champ combos are just starting to come out there over 100 base mutations to try out. and even if every single one of those combos is bland, mimosa is one of the hottest snakes i've ever seen.

Yeah Champ combos SUCK!!! I love the Normal Champ and Hypo Champ, but that's about it.

One or two good combos just aren't going to cut it when the majority of the combos look the same!

Agreed - I'm very un-impressed with Champagnes and their combo's. Someone posted on another thread that there are some combo's that don't look the same, but that only a select few people have gotten to see them.

You would think it would help to dispel it's reputation of being a pattern killer by showing its true potential.

I really don't understand the buzz over champagnes. Plus, their heads just looks weird to me. Not a project I have any desire to get into. For ME there, are much prettier animals to get into than champagnes.

I agree, I would only spend my money on normal champs & mimosa or hets.
I don't like any other combo so far..
If the piebald champ is real that would be another nice champ combo.

Agreed BUT I do like the spider champagne. The only potential I can see with champagne combos are the ones that clean up the champagne and compliments its coloration like the mimosa (kinda) and the spider champagne. But thats just my opinion.

Re: champagne full potential ...will it be meet ?

man- im glad im not alone. everytime when a new champ combo gets introduced, i think- oh ok yet another one thats looks the same.

i dont like the most champagne combos and therfore i do not work with that gene.

plus the problems they cause, when mixed into other problem morphs like the spider or sable.

the champagne seems to have some wobble genes in it.

theres a good thread about it in the BLBC from wall2 wall reptiles. they produce the saffrons this year and are one of the first that got into the champ project.

overall i dont think they are too expensive, cause they are only available since 2007 (i think it was 2006 when brian from bhb proved em).

i like some of the combos (like the mimosa and the buttery nipple and the saffron) but the most combos are just not my taste.

champagne pastels, spiders, pins, lemonblast, calicos, mijaves, lessers, pewters etc are just not my taste.

i like the normal champagnes though- espacially the champagne ringer from dave green and i liked the champagne xxx that nerd produced this year.

overall im torned- i like some of em but the majority is just not my taste. but since its a new morph and thousand combos arent made yet... im torned

edit: oh and the cinnamosa is just stunning

I hate to cast any judgement yet when all potential avenues haven't yet been explored (maybe something ridiculously awesome is gonna pop out of one of these crosses) and I've only actually seen a few of the combos in person ... Maybe in the flesh, they would blow me away with their subtle, sublime variation.

I have to say, though, so far the champagne is way down there on my list of "morphs to get" ... I'm not even a big fan of the normal champagnes, and while I like the combos a tad better (esp. pastel champagne), so far they don't have enough variation and "flash" for me to get too excited about them.

In a way, though, I appreciate that ... One less expensive thing to covet

from hearing what everyone has said so fare i am not alone in the way i feel about champagnes and you are correct they do have a wobble issue and a animal i have no plans of working with in the future ......i think the mimosa and regular are awesome but very over rated the other combos i think people make a big deal out of them cause they themselves dont wanna feel bad for buying a animal that is a pattern killer

I also am glad I am not alone, the Champ has been unimpressive & so far they look very similar IMO.

I prefer snakes with patterns, so the Champ does not do it for me. I guess that is why the ball morphs are so popular, lots of different combos to choose from.

I do like the mimosa, and the wacky one NERD produced, but that was probably another HG Woma cross, I pretty much like all of the HG Woma crosses so far, lots of pattern changes.

The Champ has probably not hit full potential and maybe some different killer morphs will pop out, but I will not be one working with it.
