    Calling all pet owners

I am a scientific illustration student who had become quite interested in herps. I was wondering if anyone has a fair amount of photography of a nice looking herp (any species of anything) and would be willing to permit me to use their photos as reference of a scientific illustration. Feel free to PM if you're interested.

    Cheers,
    Richard Starrett

I'm afraid I do not have any herps to give you pictures of, but I noticed you live in Oakville. You see, I will be moving there soon, and I was wondering if you know anything about the pet bylaw there that bans 'pythons' (among other things)? I'm trying to find more info about it, if there are any appeals to dis-include ball pythons, or if the bylaw itself is defunct, as it is old from what I can tell.

If you're just looking for reference take a look around the picture forum, unless you're asking to use the photos to be published in something

    Re: Calling all pet owners

I'm not looking to reproduce the photos in any way, but I am asking for permission to use them as a direct reference of individual specimens (the photo and the end product will look nothing alike other then the subject). I have no problem going through the gallery and taking photos for reference. What does concern me though, say I get a very unique looking Yemen Chameleon and I try selling a print of my illustration of it, I don't want the owner and/or breeder upset with me. If I do the Illustration well enough I would hope that the owner could reconize their speciefic herp. I'm not too keen on burning bridges, so I'm asking permission. It's really not a big thing.

    Thanks a million,
    Richard
