She is heatin up my thermometer

I have a UTH and have my t-stat set so it stays around 90-93, under the substrate, I just fed her and she is layin on the warm side right on the thermometer and it says 96, but the tstat is still on What should i do? For now i turned it down very little so it shut off.

Take the probe and place it directly on the glass over the uth inside the enclosure and see how high it goes.

I think you would be alright but it may be a good idea, just to be safe, to turn your T-Stat down a degree or two in general. Although the T-Stat keeps it from going above 93 the fact that your snake is trapping some of the heat in the spot he/she is laying makes it slightly hotter. If it were me i might drop it down a degree or two just to be safe, hope this helps.

Ya she is layin right on top of the tstat probe, reading 95 today. The probe isn't even covered by substrate anymore, only her belly.

The tstat probe should be inbetween the glass and the uth so the snake can't move the probe. If the snake moves the probe of the mat then the heat will stay on and burn your snake. You can put the thermometer probe on the glass because its not a big deal if it gets moved.
