New Piercing! =D
So I finally got up the guts to get a new piercing. I decided to get my tongue done, and I love it. Though I'm still getting use to it. I actually got it done yesterday (friday). And every time I talked, I swear I thought people where thinking I was foreign. Even my friend had a hard time understanding me. I finally ate today and it took me a hour to ear my lunch, and it wasn't even all of it. I've gotten a little use to it, and the swelling's gone down. I clean it out after every meal, and even in the morning. It's on an angel, but I don't care. It still looks awesome, and I really love it. Now I'm just always concerned I'll swallow it. ^^;;;
Anyone else out there with their tongue done have any advice for me? I have my dad to help out a little, he's had his done fo 12 years, but I like to hear the opinions of other people.
0.1 Ball Python (Kafusu)
0.1 Akita (Jada)

I've only swallowed one in the 2 years ive had mine. lol i tried eatin a pizza like an hour after i got mine and that was a retarted and painful choice lol. talkin was fun too lol and my dad dint notice til i told him. use mouthwash after all meals. oh and be careful ur bound to bite it I chipped a small part of tooth on mine-did not feel very nice . also keep an extra ball handy whenever ur out; its not fun tryna hold the bar up if the other comes off and is swallowed or lost(at least till ur used to it and know it wont come off. cool stuff!

I've had mine for a little over 8 years and I've swallowed it (or a ball) a couple of times.
It gets a lot easier to eat once the swelling goes down and you can put a shorter bar in it. Just make sure for now you're using your mouthwash frequently!

I would advise you to talk to your piercer if you have any questions or concerns about it. When I got mine done, there was no swelling at all (my piercer didn't use clamps on mine. He said that tongues swell more from the clamping than the actual piercing), but my piercer also told me NOT to use mouthwash for the first week or two as the chemicals in antiseptic mouthwash could irritate it. The mouth heals so fast on its own that he recommended rinsing with bottled water after each meal and after brushing my teeth. Like I said, no swelling at all and I was healed and eating and talking 100% normally within a week.
I personally have had mine for 12 years or so. I have SEVERAL chipped teeth and worn down enamel to show for it. Once I have the money to start on thousands of dollars of dental work I'm sure I need as a result, I will be taking mine out. My recommendation is to pay with it as LITTLE as possible. Also, definitely switch to a shorter bar and plastic balls on the end once the swelling goes down to avoid damage to your teeth as much as possible.

I recommend my customers to rinse out with a sea salt solution (1/4 teaspoon sea salt mixed in 8oz warm water) after everything that goes into their mouth other than water.
